Autumn Retreat 2008 Is Upon Us!
Last Chance to Register for 2008 Dzogchen Autumn Retreat
October 4, 2008 to October 11, 2008
“No need to wait for Buddha’s blessing; it is your present faith.
No need to wait for encouragement; it is your present love.
No need to wait for another method; it is your present awareness.
No need to wait for a place to practice;
It is The Buddha Path before you.” —from the Concluding Song of The Buddha Path, page 126

A Great Opportunity to Train in the Dzogchen Lineage Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual Dzogchen Autumn Retreat guided by H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche. The Retreat is organized by Dzogchen Shri Singha Idaho and will be held at the beautiful, secluded Dzogchen Retreat Centerin Western Oregon. This year’s teachings will focus on the pith instructions found in The Buddha Path. These profound methods help one to eradicate negative thinking and increase positive thinking through the understanding, experiencing, and realizing of one’s own nature, which is True Happiness, or Vast Awakening.
Seating is limited, so apply now to reserve your space.

Dzogchen flag flies at the summit of Idaho.
Recently, Boise Sangha member Nate McIntyre had the opportunity to summit Mt. Borah, Idaho’s tallest peak. In an effort to also make his summit a way to practice dharma he took with him the Dzogchen flag so that it’s blessings may be carried by the wind to countless sentient beings.
May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering. May all sentient beings have happiness and the causes of happiness.
Dharma Discussion Topics Posted
As discussed at the Sunday evening practice we have added the “Dharma Dozen” or more formally known as 12 Dharma Principles to the website. Following with the plans, we will begin our discussion next Sunday (July 5th) with the topic, “Present moment thinking is the only being there is (a rock is not a being)”.
Should you wish to print out the full list you can do so by visiting the page here.
Continued Site Updates & Newsletter!
As some may have noticed, the site continues to have various improvements/modifications made to make it more appealing as well as easy to browse. In addition to these aesthetic changes we also have a new newsletter that you can subscribe to through the website by going here. You can also access the subscription page via the menu to the right. =)
There are more features to come to the site but I am also requesting any sort of feedback that can be given to help make the site more usable, appealing, or generally better. Please mail them here.
DRC Fundraising BBQ Generates Money & Merit!
I am proud to announce that due to the very kind donations of our sangha members, the DRC Fundraising event was a success. Not only was it a gorgeous day outside, but the company was just as fantastic. Thank you to all those who made the event possible, and a very special thank you to the King Family for being so gracious to donate their time and house/backyard. May the merit generated be of great benefit not only to the Dzogchen Retreat Center and the Boise Sangha but to all sentient beings for the swift attainment of vast awakening. To view all of the pictures from the event, follow this link.
A Special Note from Shelly King: I would like to thank all who attended the fund raising BBQ and Emmy’s birthday party! We had a great time - The fundraiser raised $822.00 which has been sent to the Foundation to be used at the Retreat Center. All those who donated have not ever been to the retreat center! I am so grateful to you all! I hope you will go to the retreat center very soon to see how your generosity has benefited all.
If you have any pictures that you took at the event and would like to contribute to the website gallery please contact the administrator and attach the files in the email.
Book Study Program Feedback - “How to Practice”
As many of you are aware, we have started a book study program and incorporated it into our Sunday practices in an attempt to find new ways to explore dharma teachings in a more effective group method. With this said, it is definitely a “work in progress” and requires the feedback of the sangha as a whole to grow and develop.
With that said, I have made a post to the book study forum for anyone to openly give feedback regarding the process. Please take a moment out of your busy schedules to let us know your thoughts so that we all may experience the profound teachings on dharma as effectively as possible.
Please post your feedback here.

DzogchenIdaho.Org Gets Another Makeover
That’s right! The Dzogchen Idaho Sangha now has a brand new place to call home on the web. In addition to the standard ability to post news, we now also have an events calendar and image galleries. Coupled with our forums community we are nearing the end of the website revamp process and can then focus more on improvements and requested changes.
May all those who visit this webspace achieve the great bliss of vast awakening.
